I’m a Celebrity South Africa Returns
The first season of the spin-off show aired in 2023, where Myleene Klass emerged as the winner. Following the success of the inaugural season, the second season of I’m a Celebrity South Africa has been confirmed, bringing back the thrill of competition and celebrity antics.
This new season will feature a total of 12 celebrities, with 8 entering the competition from the start and 2 sets of late arrivals expected to join later. Among the contestants are notable figures such as Adam Thomas, who finished third in the 2016 season of I’m a Celebrity, and Scarlett Moffatt, who won the show in the same year.
Other celebrities participating include Ashley Roberts, who was the runner-up in the 12th series in 2012, and David Haye, who also secured a third-place finish in 2012. Beverley Callard, who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, filmed her segments for the new series before beginning her treatment, showcasing her determination to participate.
Sir Mo Farah, who came fifth in the 2020 season, is also among the contestants, with sources indicating that he is very competitive and aims to win this time around. Gemma Collins, who had a brief stint in the jungle in 2014, is another familiar face, having struggled during her first appearance and lasting only three days.
Craig Charles left the jungle after four days in 2014 due to a family emergency, while Harry Redknapp was crowned King of the Jungle in 2018, adding to the rich history of the show. As the lineup is revealed, excitement builds among fans eager to see how these celebrities will fare in the challenging environment of the South African jungle.
Initial reactions from fans and media have been positive, with one tabloid source stating, “This will be a glorious return for Adam as he established himself as a true fan favourite through his series in camp.” Beverley Callard shared her experience, noting that her previous time in a cold, wet castle in Wales was tough but rewarding due to the friendships formed.
Scarlett Moffatt reflected on her past experience, saying, “I was on it a whole decade ago, so I would’ve been in my early 20s and I’m a different human now.” As the show prepares to launch, viewers are keen to see how the dynamics will unfold and which celebrity will ultimately take the crown in this exciting season of I’m a Celebrity South Africa.
