Stabbing Incident at Thorpe St Andrew School
A teenage girl was stabbed at Thorpe St Andrew School in Norwich on March 11, 2026, at 10:24 AM, prompting a swift police response and a lockdown of the school.
Following the incident, pupils were instructed to hide under desks and turn off their phones as teachers barricaded classroom doors. The lockdown lasted for almost three hours, with the first students being let out at around 1:20 PM.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The injured girl, believed to be a Year 10 pupil aged between 14 and 15, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Approximately 100 parents arrived at the school grounds seeking information about their children during the tense situation. One parent expressed frustration, stating, “Just f****** let the kids out,” while another voiced concern for their child’s safety, saying, “If my son is under a table and someone’s coming with a knife, I want him to be aware they’re coming.”
Students also shared their fears, with one stating, “I am very scared,” and another simply wanting to go home.
The incident is not believed to be linked to a previous report of antisemitic abuse at the school, which had raised serious questions after a visiting group of Jewish boys reported suffering such abuse during a football match.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing, and details remain unconfirmed.
