Iga Świątek Dominates Karolina Muchova
“Yeah, for sure, I felt great. I felt like I was playing better and better. Just great,” said Iga Świątek after her impressive victory against Karolina Muchova at the Indian Wells tournament.
Świątek defeated Muchova with a commanding score of 6-2, 6-0, showcasing her dominance on the court. This victory allowed her to advance to the quarterfinals, marking her 27th quarterfinal appearance in WTA 1000 events.
Throughout the match, Świątek broke Muchova’s serve four times and did not face a single break point herself. She won an impressive 58% of points on Muchova’s serve, further emphasizing her control over the match.
This win also ended Muchova’s win streak of eight matches, a significant achievement for Świątek, who has now won five of their six career encounters.
“I always want to be proactive with my forehand, because this is what gives me points,” Świątek noted, highlighting her strategic approach to the game.
In addition to her victory, Świątek’s second-set shutout was notable as it marked the 38th such instance in WTA 1000 events, placing her fourth all-time in this category.
Having previously won the Indian Wells tournament twice, Świątek continues to demonstrate her prowess on this prestigious stage.
