Significant Developments in Landman
Landman, the neo-Western drama centered around the oil business in West Texas, has officially confirmed a third season. This upcoming season is described as a ‘reset’ of sorts, indicating a shift in narrative direction and character dynamics.
Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Landman follows the story of Tommy Norris, a landman deeply involved in the oil industry. The series has garnered attention for its exploration of the complexities surrounding the oil business and its impact on the lives of its characters.
Christian Wallace stated, “Season 3 will be a ‘reset,’ of sorts,” highlighting the intention to refresh the storyline and character arcs. Billy Bob Thornton, one of the show’s prominent stars, speculated that the new season will blend elements from both Season 1 and Season 2, suggesting an evolution in character development.
As of now, Taylor Sheridan has begun writing the scripts for Season 3, which is expected to stream by the end of 2026. However, Michelle Randolph, another cast member, mentioned, “I haven’t seen any scripts. I don’t have exact dates — yet,” indicating that details remain unconfirmed.
The cast for Season 3 includes notable actors such as Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, and Sam Elliott, promising a strong ensemble for the upcoming season.
Currently, Taylor Sheridan is under contract with Paramount until 2028, which allows him to further develop the Landman series and potentially explore new narratives within the show’s framework. Following this contract, Sheridan is expected to transition to a new agreement with NBC/Universal starting in 2029.
Landman streams exclusively on Paramount+, making it accessible to a wide audience eager to follow the evolving story of Tommy Norris and the challenges he faces in the oil business.
While the anticipation for Season 3 builds, uncertainties remain regarding the exact release date and specific plot details. Fans of the series will need to stay tuned for further announcements as the production progresses.
