Leslie Odom Jr. Returns to Hamilton
“Returning to Hamilton and revisiting the role of Aaron Burr with the growth and perspective of time has been a profoundly healing artistic experience. I am having so much fun!” said Leslie Odom Jr., who will reprise his celebrated role in the West End production starting July 3, 2026.
Odom’s return to the stage at the Victoria Palace Theatre marks a significant moment for both the actor and the acclaimed musical. The production will run for nine weeks, concluding on September 5, 2026. Odom, who won a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Burr, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform once again in this iconic role.
Hamilton, which tells the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton through his involvement in the American Revolution and personal life, has been a landmark production since it opened in London in 2017. The show has garnered seven Olivier awards, solidifying its status in the theatre world.
Odom previously played Burr in the original Broadway production for a year and made a brief return for a 12-week stint in 2025. His involvement in the West End production is highly anticipated, especially as he brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the role.
Cameron Mackintosh, a producer of the show, remarked, “When Jeffrey Seller first invited me to see Hamilton during its New York try-out at the Public Theater over 10 years ago, I was knocked out by Leslie Odom, Jr.’s electric performance as Aaron Burr opposite Lin-Manuel’s unforgettably charismatic Alexander Hamilton.”
Odom’s other notable credits include performances in films such as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Murder on the Orient Express, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
The current cast features Alex Sawyer as Alexander Hamilton and Jay Perry as Aaron Burr, with Adam J Bernard stepping in for certain performances as Hamilton. The anticipation for Odom’s engagement is palpable, with priority booking set to open at 11am on March 12, 2026, followed by general booking on March 13.
