“I’m so excited to welcome this astonishing group of performers to Regent’s Park,” said Drew McOnie, the director and choreographer of the upcoming production of CATS.
Gary Wilmot is confirmed to join the cast in the role of Gus for this highly anticipated staging, which will begin performances on July 25, 2026, and run through September 12, 2026.
The production, based on T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, follows a tribe of strays and rebels in London who gather under the Jellicle moon, hoping one will be chosen for rebirth.
Wilmot will be joined by Rachael Wooding, who will portray Grizabella, and Jet Yau, who will take on the roles of Mr. Mistoffelees and Quaxo.
The press night for the production is scheduled for August 6, 2026, marking a significant moment for the cast and crew as they showcase their work to the public.
Following its engagement at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, the production is set to tour, bringing the beloved musical to audiences beyond London.
As excitement builds for the show, details remain unconfirmed regarding specific tour dates and locations after the initial run.
Fans and theatre enthusiasts alike are looking forward to experiencing this new interpretation of a classic musical, as the cast prepares for their debut performance.
