McDonald’s Launches Campaign to Celebrate Young Employees in the UK

“We often hear many unfair stereotypes about young people, but we are really proud of the young people working in our restaurants, who are fundamental to keeping them running successfully,” said Ben Fox, a spokesperson for McDonald’s UK. This statement underscores the company’s commitment to its young workforce, which comprises over 100,000 employees under the age of 25.

Fox further emphasized, “Where some see stereotypes, we see potential.” This campaign aims to showcase the achievements and skills of young crew members, highlighting their vital role in the fast-food giant’s operations.

In addition to celebrating its employees, McDonald’s UK is preparing to roll out a new Easter-themed menu starting March 17. This menu will feature items such as the Cadbury Mini Eggs Frappe and Mini Eggs McFlurry, appealing to seasonal customers.

The return of Spicy McNuggets will also be a highlight, available in portions of six, nine, or a 20-piece share box. These additions aim to attract both loyal customers and new diners during the festive season.

However, changes are also coming to McDonald’s loyalty program. Beginning March 17, customers will face an increase in the points required for rewards. Specifically, the points needed for Tier 1 rewards will rise from 1,500 to 2,000, while Tier 2 rewards will increase from 2,500 to 3,500.

Moreover, Tier 4 rewards will see a jump from 5,500 to 6,500 points. This shift means that diners will need an additional 500 points to claim the most affordable food and drink freebies.

As the changes take effect, customers are encouraged to utilize their existing points. “Diners urged to claim a free Big Mac ‘now’,” a recent announcement stated, warning that the cost of claiming rewards will increase.

In other words, if you have some points on the McDonald’s app and you want to claim a free Big Mac, do it now before it costs you an extra tenner.

McDonald’s continues to be one of the largest employers of young people in the UK, with one in three managers being under the age of 25. This new campaign not only highlights their contributions but also aims to reshape perceptions about youth in the workforce.
