The Motability Scheme allows those receiving higher-rate mobility benefits to exchange part or all of their payments for a leased vehicle. In a recent announcement, the company behind the Motability Scheme revealed it will introduce new charges and cut allowances to absorb a £300 million tax increase. Starting from July 2026, new leases will come with lower annual mileage allowances and higher charges for any extra miles driven. Additionally, advance payments for certain vehicles will see an increase of £300 to £400.
