Dr. Rahmeh Aladwan, a 31-year-old resident of Pilning, South Gloucestershire, has been charged with four counts of inviting support for Hamas, a proscribed organization. The charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred between July and December 2024, raising significant concerns regarding national security and the promotion of extremist views.
Aladwan was arrested at her home and subsequently charged under the Terrorism Act. In addition to the charges related to Hamas, she faces two counts of stirring up racial hatred through written material and spoken words. One of these charges is linked to an incident that took place on King Charles Street in London on 21 July 2025.
During her appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, Aladwan’s legal team indicated that she would be pleading not guilty to all charges. This development highlights the contentious nature of the case, as it involves serious allegations that could have far-reaching implications.
In a statement, Aladwan expressed her views, stating, “I don’t condemn Hamas. I don’t condemn October 7,” which reflects her controversial stance on the ongoing conflict involving the group. Additionally, she made a provocative remark, saying, “Free the world from Jewish supremacy,” further intensifying the scrutiny surrounding her case.
Aladwan’s legal troubles are not new; she was previously arrested for breaching bail conditions following earlier arrests. This history adds another layer of complexity to her current legal situation.
The Metropolitan Police have not released detailed information regarding the evidence supporting the charges, leaving some aspects of the case unclear. As the legal proceedings unfold, the implications of these charges on Aladwan’s future and the broader societal context remain to be seen.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any potential further developments in the case, including the timeline for upcoming court appearances or additional charges that may arise.
