“It was a lot more intense, it was hardcore,” said Scarlett Moffatt, reflecting on her return to the reality show I’m A Celebrity… South Africa. Moffatt, who won the UK version of the show in 2016, is now 35 years old and among the 12 celebrities participating in this new edition.
The filming of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa has been described as more intense than the Australian version, with Moffatt noting that camp life was not as harmonious as during her first appearance. She stated, “I felt like I was sort of just in a weird social experiment rather than on the telly,” indicating that the dynamics among the contestants have shifted significantly.
Scarlett Moffatt first gained fame as a member of the cast of Gogglebox in 2014 and quit the show in 2016 to pursue her reality TV career. Since winning I’m a Celebrity, she has taken on multiple TV presenting roles, establishing herself as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
Her comments also hint at underlying tensions in the camp, particularly involving fellow contestants Adam Thomas and Jimmy Bullard. Moffatt remarked, “I think a lot of it is this thing with like – and I’m going to put it in quotes here like ‘lad banter’,” suggesting a potential feud that has yet to be fully explored.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the specific nature of the feud between Thomas and Bullard, as well as the exact date of the first episode of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa. However, Moffatt’s insights provide a glimpse into the challenges faced by the contestants this season.
