Sharon Osbourne and her daughter Kelly delivered an emotional tribute in memory of the late Ozzy as he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BRITs on Saturday.

Dolly Parton introduced the duo on stage through a pre-recorded message from Nashville, just before Robbie Williams took the stage alongside members of Ozzy’s band.

The frontman of Black Sabbath passed away in July of the previous year at the age of 76, just a fortnight after he had given a farewell performance in his native Birmingham.

Sharon fondly recalled her deceased spouse, calling him 'The most modest egomaniac you could ever encounter' while Kelly stood by her side in support.

Sharon Osbourne expressed to the audience: 'I'm truly grateful to receive this Lifetime Achievement Award from my wonderful husband. It’s a shame he isn’t here to accept it in person.'

She continued by expressing her belief that her late husband would be watching over them, recalling how he disliked speeches. Yet, she felt compelled to ‘ramble on’ as she entertained the crowd with stories of Ozzy’s accomplishments.

Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic lead singer of Black Sabbath, passed away in July of the previous year at the age of 76, just a fortnight after he had given a farewell performance alongside his bandmates at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham.

'He originated from a modest working-class area in Birmingham. He ascended to become one of the most recognizable and esteemed musicians of his era, experiencing incredibly joyful moments alongside some very genuine struggles.

'However, he consistently devoted himself to striving for improvement. His desire to enhance himself both personally and in his career was unwavering.'

She remarked: 'We dedicated a significant part of our lives to traveling the globe. Yet, Ozzy's spirit always remained in England. No matter where we found ourselves, he took immense pride in being that working-class Brummie, and he made sure everyone remembered it'.

Sharon expressed that she was accepting the award not just for Ozzy but also for his ‘remarkable family’, his fellow artists who supported him throughout his journey, and the fans who gathered on the streets of Birmingham during his tribute.

'If Ozzy were here with us tonight, he would be sharing that beautiful smile of his, and I know he would feel immense pride to receive this honor from the nation he cherished. Although he may not be present, he has gifted us an incredible legacy of work that will always be remembered by the country that embraced him.'

After hearing the playful jeers from the Manchester audience, Sharon chuckled: ‘I knew you would receive that. I warned you.’

Robbie was introduced to the stage as he led the supergroup, featuring Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos, and Zakk Wylde, for a special one-night performance to conclude the event.

Following a heartfelt performance of Ozzy’s classic No More Tears, fans expressed their excitement: ‘Robbie paying tribute to Ozzy, what a perfect conclusion to the ceremony!’ and ‘What a suitable finale for the Brits awards for the legendary Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness!’ One fan remarked, ‘I thought, ‘Robbie covering Ozzy? This should be amusing,’ but to be fair, he’s nailing it, well done mate.’

Earlier that evening, Sharon shared with the Daily Mail that being a grandparent was ‘the main reason to carry on’ after the heartbreaking loss of Ozzy.

As her son Jack gets ready to welcome his fifth child, his second with wife Aree Gearhart, Sharon expressed her thoughts on being a grandmother: ‘Oh, it’s the greatest joy; it’s the ultimate motivation to keep moving forward and to bring happiness to your life.’

In the meantime, both she and Kellu, who is the mother of three-year-old Sidney, donned heartfelt tributes to the late rocker as part of their black ensembles.

Sharon displayed a bat-shaped brooch on her lapel, remarking, ‘It’s a pin [he] always wore,’ while Kelly sported a crucifix that once belonged to Ozzy.
