FKA Twigs has filed a new lawsuit against Shia LaBeouf, alleging that he attempted to prevent her from speaking out about sexual abuse through an illegal non-disclosure agreement (NDA). This development comes after Twigs previously sued LaBeouf in 2020, accusing him of relentless physical, sexual, and mental abuse during their relationship.
The 2020 lawsuit included serious allegations of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress. In 2025, the parties reached a settlement that included an NDA, which Twigs’ lawyer now claims is unlawful under the STAND Act, a California law that prohibits agreements intended to silence victims of sexual assault.
In December 2025, LaBeouf filed a secret arbitration complaint against Twigs, asserting that she breached their contract. However, Twigs does not seek financial compensation from her new lawsuit; instead, she aims to right a wrong and advocate for other women who are victims of sexual violence.
Matthew Rosengart, Twigs’ attorney, stated, “She files this action to right a wrong, and also on behalf of other women who are the victims of sexual and domestic violence who do not have the resources to speak out and defend themselves from predators.”
LaBeouf’s attorney has denied the claims made by Twigs, asserting that the allegations are unfounded. Nonetheless, LaBeouf has acknowledged a history of abusive behavior towards women, which has drawn significant public scrutiny.
The current lawsuit seeks a court order to prohibit LaBeouf from enforcing certain sections of the NDA. Observers note that this legal action could have broader implications for how such agreements are treated in cases of sexual violence.
