This follows a period of warmer weather, where the highest temperature recorded in the UK so far this year reached 19.2 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, peaks of 15 degrees Celsius are expected in the southeast before the cold front arrives.
Wind and Weather Warnings
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning in force until 12:00 GMT in western and northern Scotland, where gusts could reach between 65-70 mph. Wider across the UK, gusts of 40-50 mph are anticipated, with stronger winds expected around western coasts of England and Wales, where gusts could reach 60 mph. There is even a small chance of gusts reaching 80 mph in some locations.

Accumulations of snow are possible not only on high ground but also on lower hills, as indicated by Jason Kelly. He stated, “Stronger winds will bring wintry showers of sleet and snow over high ground in the north of the UK with the chance of accumulating snow on some hills and mountains.” This could lead to challenging travel conditions and disruptions in affected areas.
