Beginning shortly after midnight on March 11, 2026, on the US East Coast, the attack reportedly wiped more than 200,000 systems and extracted 50 terabytes of sensitive data. Stryker, which employs around 56,000 people globally, confirmed that its Cork plant in Ireland, which employs over 4,000 individuals, was among the facilities affected by this cyber incident.
Stryker Corporation reported no indication of ransomware or malware, asserting that they believe the incident is contained.
