“Some customers think that driving an SUV is not as pleasant as a hatch or a wagon. [Such] propositions have a better balance between driveability, efficiency and space,” stated Frank Marotte, Dacia’s sales boss, highlighting the brand’s commitment to enhancing driving satisfaction with its new model.

The new Dacia Striker is designed to offer a more engaging driving experience compared to its predecessor, the Bigster. It will be available with a range of hybrid engines, including the most fuel-efficient variant that runs on the Hybrid 155 system, which combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine with a 49bhp electric motor, yielding a total of 153bhp and 170Nm of torque.

In addition to the Hybrid 155, Dacia is introducing a new hybrid four-wheel drive system called Hybrid 150. This system incorporates a mild-hybrid setup paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and an additional rear electric motor, enhancing the vehicle’s versatility.

The Striker is expected to be longer than the Bigster, measuring 4.65 meters, and will feature a full-length glass roof along with a familiar steering wheel design, appealing to consumers looking for both style and functionality.

Dacia aims to increase its mid-size car sales from one-fifth to one-third of its total volume, and the Striker is a pivotal part of this strategy. The model is anticipated to start at around £25,000 in the UK, with a competitive price point below €25,000 in Europe, approximately £21.6k.

Dacia is describing the Striker as an “unexpected and dynamic crossover,” aiming to carve out a credible presence in the C-segment. The company has already begun deliveries of the Bigster in July 2025, setting the stage for the Striker’s anticipated launch.

As Dacia continues to innovate, it plans to introduce four new all-electric models by 2030, including a compact city car, further expanding its lineup and commitment to sustainability.

“Dacia will hope the attractive Striker has the appeal to make an impact here – and everywhere else,” the company stated, emphasizing its ambitions in the competitive automotive market.
