Officials note that drivers can save up to £1,400 annually on running costs compared to petrol cars. The UK Government is also investing £600 million to expand charging infrastructure, aiming for hundreds of thousands of additional chargers across the country.

Currently, there are about 119,000 chargers available in the UK—twice as many as petrol pumps. Used EVs have seen a remarkable surge in demand, increasing by 177% year-on-year according to Octopus Electric Vehicles.
