Last year, May donated 3,000 daffodil bulbs to the local community. Those bulbs bloomed at St James’ Church, but they produced bright yellow flowers instead of the intended colors due to a supply error.

May expressed confusion over how 18-inch daffodil stalks could obstruct views, especially since a parked ice cream van near the green stands at 7 feet.

The council acknowledged the disappointment of residents who supported the daffodil planting idea. Yet, they offered alternative locations for planting that May did not accept.

May has 3.6 million followers on Instagram and has engaged with the community through his floral initiatives. He indicated he may revisit his plans to plant daffodils in the future.
