Mike Lynch passed away in August 2024 when his superyacht sank off the coast of Sicily, leaving behind a complex legacy intertwined with the ongoing legal issues surrounding Autonomy. His widow, Angela Bacares, is reported to hold significant assets independently, which may play a role in the estate’s financial future.

Despite the High Court’s ruling, the estate has the option to apply directly to the Court of Appeal for permission to challenge the decision. The total compensation awarded to HP, including interest, amounts to $1.24 billion, with $236 million attributed to interest alone.
