Volodymyr Kholosha stated, “Russia has failed to learn the lessons of Chernobyl.” Alexandra Bell emphasized that we are extremely close to potential catastrophes in the nuclear space.

Shaun Burnie warned that Rosatom must be prevented from trying to restart one or more of the reactors. He highlighted a lack of urgency among policymakers regarding these challenges.

The ongoing situation at Chernobyl and Zaporizhzhia underscores the critical importance of international collaboration in ensuring nuclear safety. Failure to address these issues could lead to disastrous consequences for Ukraine and beyond.
