UFC 327 Update
“Jiri Prochazka will get another shot at light heavyweight gold at UFC 327,” announced the organization as anticipation builds for the upcoming event.
Scheduled for April 11, 2026, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, UFC 327 will feature Prochazka facing Carlos Ulberg for the vacant light heavyweight title. This matchup comes after Prochazka previously held the title in 2022, only to vacate it due to a shoulder injury.
Prochazka, now 33 years old, captured the light heavyweight title with a fifth-round submission of Glover Teixeira at UFC 275. Since then, he has been eager to reclaim his championship status.
Ulberg, on the other hand, has been on an impressive run, winning nine consecutive UFC fights since March 2021. His rise in the light heavyweight division has made him a formidable opponent for Prochazka.
The light heavyweight title became vacant after Alex Pereira moved up to the heavyweight division, having reclaimed the title at UFC 320 in 2025 by knocking out Magomed Ankalaev. Pereira’s departure has opened the door for a new champion to emerge in the 205-pound category.
In addition to the main event, UFC 327 will also feature Joshua Van defending his flyweight title against Tatsuro Taira, adding further excitement to the card.
As the event approaches, the stakes are high for both Prochazka and Ulberg, with a new 205-pound champion set to be crowned in Miami this spring.
Tom Aspinall recently commented on the competitive landscape, stating, “Alex Pereira is a generational talent, I think he’s one of the best fighters the UFC has ever seen.” This highlights the caliber of fighters currently in the division.
