India’s triumph today ensures that England will face India in a third consecutive T20 World Cup semi-final.
In the previous two tournaments, the teams faced off at the same stage, with England dominating their opponents by 10 wickets in Adelaide in 2022, while India avenged that defeat with a 68-run victory in Guyana two years prior.
In both instances, the winners proceeded to claim the trophy, and India has arranged a highly awaited trilogy against Harry Brook’s team.
