Gemma Kingsley, aged 50, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a series of fraud and theft offenses that targeted recent divorcees. Over a four-year period, she defrauded multiple men out of a total of £180,000, manipulating them into funding her lavish lifestyle.
Kingsley employed various deceitful tactics, including false claims of an impending inheritance worth millions, to gain the trust of her victims. One individual lost more than £125,000 due to her fraudulent schemes, while another was defrauded of £30,000.
In addition to these financial losses, Kingsley used stolen or false card details to pay for luxury accommodations, including a €94,000 bill at an alpine resort, which is approximately £81,000. Her fraudulent activities extended to opening a betting account in one victim’s name, resulting in substantial financial losses.
During the trial at Swindon Crown Court, Kingsley pleaded guilty to six counts of theft and four counts of fraud. The judge described her as a “financial predator,” emphasizing the calculated and persistent nature of her offenses.
