John Travolta’s upcoming film November 1963 will have a wide release across 1,000 theaters in North America. This approach marks a significant shift from typical specialty film rollouts.
Gareth West, of Ketchup Entertainment, stated, “This is not being handled like a specialty acquisition, but like a title that needs room to play.” The film is directed by Roland Joffé and stars Travolta as Johnny Roselli.
The cast also includes Mandy Patinkin, Dermot Mulroney, Robert Carlyle, and Jefferson White. The script was written by Nicki Celozzi. The film is described as a historical crime drama.
It focuses on the 48-hour period surrounding the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The narrative reframes this pivotal event through the lens of those operating in the shadows, particularly the Chicago Outfit.
West emphasized the film’s ambition to bring audiences into the inner workings of organized crime during this seismic moment in history. Bonnie Giancana serves as an executive producer.
Ketchup Entertainment plans to reach a broad audience with this release strategy. International sales are managed by Daniel Baur at K5 International.
The acquisition was brokered by Paradigm Talent Agency. This extensive rollout aims to attract more viewers than typical specialty titles.
