The Lego Sega Genesis Console set allows fans to recreate a nostalgic piece of gaming history with customizable branding options. Orders for the set will open on June 1, 2026. The set features detailed construction elements that pay homage to the classic console.
The Lego set includes 479 pieces and is priced at $39.99. It can be customized to display either Genesis or Mega Drive branding. The assembled console measures approximately 1.5 inches high, 6 inches wide, and 4.5 inches deep.
This building set also comes with two detachable controllers, which are about three inches wide. Additionally, it includes a mock game cartridge featuring popular characters Sonic and Tails.
The Sega Genesis was originally released as the Mega Drive in Japan in 1988 before arriving in North America as the Genesis in 1989. This launch marked the beginning of a significant era in retro gaming and solidified the console’s place in video game history.
