“Surgery went well! Thanks for all the messages,” Noa Lang posted on Instagram following a serious injury he sustained during a Champions League match against Liverpool at Anfield.
Lang suffered a significant cut to his right thumb in the 76th minute after colliding with advertising hoardings. The incident led to immediate medical attention, with Lang receiving oxygen before being stretchered off the field.
Galatasaray confirmed that Lang underwent surgery for his injury, which he described as successful. The club’s management is now considering legal action against UEFA regarding the circumstances surrounding the injury.
Eray Yazgan, a representative for Galatasaray, stated, “We made a complaint to UEFA representatives after the match.” He further added, “We will file a lawsuit for compensation to UEFA.”
Lang’s injury was not the only concern for Galatasaray during the match, as teammate Victor Osimhen also suffered an injury, raising fears of a potential fracture in his arm.
Despite the unfortunate incidents, Lang received support from Liverpool players Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk, who consoled him after the injury occurred.
Galatasaray entered the match with a 1-0 lead from the first leg but faced a challenging game, ultimately losing 4-0 to Liverpool.
