Pokémon Champions is intended to be the new flagship platform for competitive Pokémon play, replacing the mainline games at major events. This upcoming title is set to launch on April 8, 2026, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, marking a significant shift in how Pokémon battles will be conducted in the gaming community.
The game will be free-to-start, allowing players to engage in battles without an upfront cost. It will also support connectivity with Pokémon HOME, enabling players to bring in qualifying Pokémon from previous games and Pokémon GO. Mega Emboar’s Ability Mold Breaker will enable it to ignore opposing Abilities when using its moves. On launch day, a Pokémon Champions + Starter Pack bundle will be available, which includes 50 additional Pokémon storage slots, 30 Teammate Tickets, and 50 Training Tickets. This bundle aims to provide players with the necessary tools to enhance their gameplay experience right from the start.
The game will feature various battle modes, including Ranked Battles, Casual Battles, and Private Battles, catering to different play styles and preferences. Furthermore, cross-platform play will be available between the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, broadening the accessibility and reach of the game.
