Cheshire Police’s investigation into serious allegations has led to multiple arrests and ongoing police presence in the area. The force became aware of allegations involving sexual offences, forced marriage, and modern slavery in March 2023.
Previously, the situation appeared stable. Residents felt secure until reports emerged of serious criminal activities linked to a religious group. The decisive moment came when police conducted raids at three properties in Crewe, including Webb House.
During these raids, seven men and three women were arrested. All individuals have since been released on conditional bail, which prevents their return to Webb House. Police concluded searches at the group’s headquarters but stated they would keep officers in the area.
Experts suggest that the ongoing police presence aims to reassure residents while investigations continue. Authorities have not disclosed specific details about the allegations or any potential charges against those arrested.
The building associated with the religious group has been released back to residents, but concerns about safety linger. The community remains on alert as the police investigation unfolds.
