Despite a potential reunion for their children, Prince William remains firmly opposed to reconciling with Prince Harry. The brothers have not spoken since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.
Prince William has agreed for his kids to meet with Prince Harry’s kids. This meeting is expected to take place in the U.K. sometime this summer. However, William is reportedly still maintaining distance from Harry and is deeply uncomfortable with direct reconciliation.
The rift between the two stems from Harry’s departure from royal duties in January 2020. William has allegedly resisted any reunion efforts between Harry and Meghan Markle and the royal family. Tensions escalated further during Harry’s recent trip to Australia.
King Charles III is keen to ensure that family ties remain intact for the next generation. He appears concerned about the ongoing feud affecting the monarchy. An insider noted, “It’s become a huge battle because William carries enormous influence behind the scenes.” Another source claimed, “Charles is convinced William is meddling and quietly working against him.”
Harry has expressed reluctance to bring his children, Prince Archie, age 6, and Princess Lilibet, age 4, to the U.K. without adequate protection. Meanwhile, reports suggest that William is blocking an invite for Harry and his family to Sandringham.
The brothers’ estrangement highlights significant divisions within the British royal family. Their relationship remains strained, with no clear path toward reconciliation.
