Lidl’s new Medium Ceramic Egg Grill raises an important question: How does it compare to premium models? Priced at £249, it offers a budget-friendly alternative to similar grills on the market.
The grill is available exclusively for Lidl Plus members. Customers can make reservations from April 23 to April 26, and pickup runs from April 30 to May 4. This timing aligns with spring demand spikes, suggesting Lidl targets households upgrading outdoor setups ahead of summer.
The grill features a thermo-regulating ceramic shell and an internal thermometer, allowing cooks to monitor temperatures easily. It is designed for grilling, smoking, baking, and searing—four cooking functions that enhance its versatility.
In comparison, the similar B&Q model is priced at approximately £500. This price difference of over £250 positions Lidl firmly in the value segment while still offering ceramic grill functionality typically associated with premium brands.
Lidl’s BBQ consists of a durable, enamel-coated ceramic shell with bamboo handles and side tables for food preparation. The smaller and lighter design may appeal to consumers looking for portability without sacrificing performance.
Details remain unconfirmed about additional features or future models. However, this launch marks Lidl’s first medium-sized grill after previously introducing a miniature version of an egg BBQ.
As the summer season approaches, interest in outdoor cooking appliances is expected to rise. Lidl’s entry into the market reflects a strategy to attract price-sensitive households seeking quality without the premium price tag.
