Istanbul’s Marmaray Expands Late-Night Services

istanbul — GB news

Istanbul’s Marmaray service now operates late-night services every day of the week to improve passenger mobility. The expanded schedule started on Sunday, enhancing public transportation options across the city.

The additional late-night departures include a 11:20 p.m. train from Gebze to Halkalı and a 11:28 p.m. train from Halkalı to Gebze. Officials expect this adjustment will address increasing passenger demand and improve late-night mobility.

In related news, maritime traffic in the Istanbul Strait resumed on Sunday following a temporary suspension caused by a mechanical failure on a dry cargo vessel. The ship, named Zaltron, experienced an engine malfunction off Kurucesme.

The vessel was safely anchored at the Ahirkapi Anchorage Area under the coordination of the Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services Center. The dry cargo ship measures 185 meters in length and had been halted as a precaution during its malfunction.

Meanwhile, John Stones, a key player for Manchester City, is recognized for his contributions to the team’s success, particularly in UEFA Champions League finals. He has averaged more than 20 games per season in the Premier League on three occasions.

Stones made 95 appearances for Everton before joining Manchester City, where he scored his first and only goal against Manchester United. He announced he will conclude his football career at Manchester City this summer.

The Istanbul public transportation network continues to adapt to growing demands for late-hour travel. This recent expansion aims to facilitate better access for passengers traveling at night.
